Why should I join the TLOPO Crew?
With this project comes dozens of opportunities across the entire team. If you're a student in high school or college, you may be interested in getting some awesome real-world experience that would look great on a resume. Whereas if you're an adult with some extra free time, you may be interested in helping out our Moderation team. Across the team, there is certainly a position that will fit you!
How much time do I need to dedicate?
Running a large MMO is no easy feat, and it definitely is time consuming. That said, we still are incredibly flexible and understanding. We do not have set hours of work, and real life ultimately takes priority - whether it's your job, school, or a personal matter.
What are the perks of being on the TLOPO Crew?
Every member of the crew has access to the internal quality assurance server. This server consistently has countless unreleased features available for testing, allowing all of our team to get a first glance at what's coming next into the game and provide feedback and suggestions to the development teams. In addition to this, all TLOPO crew members have an extreme amount of creative liberty. If you've got an idea, you can pitch it to the rest of the team and potentially have it implemented into the game - this is actually where most of our new content ideas come from!
What does the TLOPO Crew do?
We run an online game, of course! Across the team, we have different departments that are responsible for all kinds of duties that support our game. Departments include: Moderation, tasked with keeping the Caribbean safe; Support, providing assistance to community members in need of help; Storyline, writers that plan out the game lore and maintain the blog; and Game Development, where code is written for the game. Does the TLOPO Crew get paid?
The Legend of Pirates Online is a volunteer project, and therefore our crew members do not get paid. Nobody on the team is making money off the game in any way. However, our crew is much like a family. You'll find that you will want to be here in the chats talking and working with everyone, we all love what we do.
Where does the TLOPO Crew work at?
Anywhere you are, we are! The Legend of Pirates Online is an online-based project. We do not have a formal office setting, or anything of that sort. Our team communicates through online services, such as Discord, which makes it easy for everyone to communicate with each other.
What are my chances of getting an offer to join the TLOPO Crew?
The Legend of Pirates Online hires from a wide range of applicants, so there's no definitive "chance" of getting an offer. Don't let the application questions discourage you from sending in your name - there's no harm, we don't bite! So many of us have learned on the job, and we're more than happy to teach any new members of the team.
